III. The Lord’s Immediate & Miraculous Response

- At the beginning of his supplications
- For he was greatly beloved
- His charge was to ‘understand the matter, and consider the vision’
- Daniel’s Seventy Weeks (v.24-27)

a. To
finish the transgression
b. To
make and end of sins
c. To
make reconciliation for iniquity
d. To
bring in everlasting righteousness
e. To
seal up the vision and the prophecy
f. To
anoint the most holy
- Plan of the Sixty-Nine Weeks (v.25,26)
a. From
the going forth of the commandment to restore & build Jerusalem (Neh 2:4-8)
[Seven Weeks: 49 years]
b. Unto
Messiah the Prince [Plus 62 Weeks: 434
Years + 49 Years=483 Years]
c. The
street shall be built again, and the wall even in troublous times (Neh 4:1,
9:36ff)
d. And
after three-score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off (Crucifixion)
e. But
not for Himself (For His people)
f. And
the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city…[A.D.70]
g. And
unto the end of the war desolations are determined
- Plan of the Seventieth Week (v.27)
a. He
shall confirm the covenant with many for one week
b. In
the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease
c. And
for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate
d. Even
until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured out upon the
desolator.
